CEE Professor Will Hansen will be presenting a workshop at the upcoming American Concrete Institute (ACI) Convention in Cincinnati, Ohio, on October 20-24, 2019. The workshop is titled “Measurement and Prediction of Early-Age Properties of High-Performance Concrete for Durability and Crack Resistance.”
Professor Hansen’s workshop will be split into three sessions on October 22-23. The workshop will present the latest developments in high-performance concrete (HPC), including material requirements for achieving HPC; crack resistance due to volume changes from thermal creep and shrinkage effects; and measurement and prediction of stress development for crack resistance in HPC associated with deformation restraint.
The presentation will draw on Hansen’s work with post-doctoral student Bo Meng, Associate Professor Ya Wei of Tsinghua University and Professor Zhichao Liu of Wuhan University of Technology.
The ACI Convention program includes more than 40 technical and educational sessions that provide attendees with the opportunity to learn about concrete research, case studies and best practices.
