Professor Photios Ioannou Celebrates 40 Years at U-M CEE
We thank and recognize Professor Ioannou for his valuable contributions and look forward to many more years of his positive influence in our community.
We are pleased to celebrate Professor Photios Ioannou’s 40th anniversary at the University of Michigan. Since joining CEE in 1984 from MIT, he has significantly impacted students and colleagues.
In 1987, Professor Ioannou wrote a tribute to Professor Robert B. Harris, the founder of CE&M at U-M, and was quite impressed by his 40-year tenure, only to find out that Professor Gene Glysson (and others) had also served for over 40 years. Today, Professor Ioannou joins their ranks, having dedicated the same length of service to U-M.
Over the years, he chose to stay at U-M, because of the exceptional quality of our students and faculty, and wishes to extend his thanks to all. His career achievements have earned him many recognitions, including ASCE Life Member status in 2024.
