U-M CEE is pleased to announce that Professor Lutgarde Raskin has been selected as a Fellow by the Association of Environmental Engineering and Science Professors (AEESP) for her many contributions to the field.
AEESP, an organization that serves professors, postdoctoral researchers, and graduate students in environmental engineering and science throughout the world, confers Fellow status to senior members who have displayed consistent dedication and excellence in teaching, research, and professional service.
Prof. Raskin has been part of AEESP since she became an Assistant Professor and contributed to the organization by serving on the AEESP Board of Directors from 2016-2019, assisting with the organization of the 2017 AEESP Conference in Ann Arbor, and contributing as a speaker and panel member at numerous AEESP Conferences since the late 1990s. This honor recognizes her ongoing efforts within the association as well as her commitment to advancing environmental engineering.
Upon receipt of this distinction, Prof. Raskin commented, “Being acknowledged by AEESP is truly gratifying. AEESP is a unique organization with a strong focus on mentoring young academics in environmental engineering and science, a passion I share as a senior faculty member and an approach I benefited from as a junior faculty member.”
An online appreciation hosted by AEESP took place on June 18, 2024, to celebrate the Fellows inducted in 2024, including Professor Raskin. Additionally, a medal presentation is scheduled for the 2025 AEESP Research and Education Conference.
