CEE Professors Receive ASCE’s John O. Bickel Award
U-M CEE Profs. Vineet Kamat and Carol Menassa, along with Associate Prof. of Architecture and Associate Prof. of Civil and Environmental Engineering Wes McGee of the Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning, and former CEE student Ci-Jyun Liang, are the recipients of the ASCE Construction Institute’s 2023 John O. Bickel Award for the paper, “Trajectory-Based Skill Learning for Overhead Construction Robots Using Generalized Cylinders with Orientation,” Journal of Computing in Civil Engineering, March 2022.
This award, which recognizes the best original article or paper published in a print issue of an ASCE journal on engineering, was established in 1986 by the Board of Direction and endowed by Parsons Brinckerhoff, Inc. in honor of John O. Bickel, a retired partner of the firm.
