Junxing Zheng and Roman Hryciw Receive ASTM International Hogentogler Award
CEE PhD alumnus and CEE professor receive an award for their paper “Soil Particle Size and Shape Distributions by Stereophotography and Image Analysis.”
Recent CEE PhD alumnus Professor Junxing Zheng and CEE Professor Roman Hryciw recently received the ASTM International Hogentogler Award, the highest honor bestowed annually by ASTM Committee D18 on Soil and Rock. ASTM International develops consensus technical standards for a variety of industries.
This award recognizes Dr. Zheng and Dr. Hryciw’s paper “Soil Particle Size and Shape Distributions by Stereophotography and Image Analysis” published in the ASTM Geotechnical Testing Journal in March 2017. The work presented in this paper was based on the dissertation of Dr. Zheng, who was awarded a PhD from CEE in 2017.
Dr. Zheng is now an Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering at Iowa State University.
