Professional Background

University of Michigan graduate from 1995 and 1998.  Mr. McDonnell has over 25 years of structural engineering experience.  By combining the practical with modern advances in the building industry, Terry commits every day to a process of turning Clients’ ideas into reality.

Mr. McDonnell serves on the Standard Committees for ASTM E06 which include standards for laminated glass walkways, glass window design, and glass aquarium design. In the past Mr. McDonnell has been on the ASTM F24 committee for the design of amusement park rides, President of the Structural Engineers Associate of Illinois, and executive for the City of Chicago High Rise Committee.

Research Interests

Behavior of glass as a building material, structural glass behavior in large deformation or seismic events.  New material composition of glass and its connectors.
