CEEFA Board Welcomes New Members

The department eagerly anticipates the insights and leadership that Jonathan and Eric will bring to CEEFA.

U-M CEE is pleased to announce updates to the Civil and Environmental Engineering Friends Association (CEEFA) board. Established to foster close connections between alumni, friends, and the department, CEEFA serves as an advisory body and a bridge between the university and the public.

This year, we bid farewell to two esteemed board members. Interim University President Domenico Grasso will formally step down from his role but plans to remain actively involved by attending CEEFA meetings and events whenever possible. Larry Brinker Jr. is also concluding his tenure on the board. We are deeply grateful for their dedication and contributions to advancing the mission of CEE and CEEFA.

Joining the CEEFA board are two accomplished alumni whose expertise and enthusiasm promise to enrich the board’s efforts:

Jonathan Zaremski (BSCE, ’98) As Vice President for Somat Engineering, Inc., Jonathan brings a wealth of experience in geotechnical engineering, construction engineering, and more. Guiding operations across multiple sectors, Jonathan has been an invaluable consultant for the CEE 402 capstone class. Reflecting on his appointment, Jonathan said, “It’s an honor to join CEEFA and continue to give back to the department that laid the foundation for my career. I look forward to collaborating with fellow members to strengthen the bridge between alumni and the university.”

Eric Ho (BSE, ’95, MEng ’99) Eric, Principal Consultant at the risk management firm Aquanti, has tackled challenges across industries including water infrastructure, transportation, and pharmaceuticals. On joining CEEFA, Eric shared, “Being part of this board is a unique opportunity to support future engineers and help guide the department toward continued excellence. I’m thrilled to contribute to this dynamic community.”
