CEE Associate Professor Ann Jeffers has been awarded the Willie Hobbs Moore Achievement Award by the Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) office. The accolade recognizes individuals who have demonstrated remarkable perseverance and dedication in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
During a ceremony held at the university on April 11th, Professor Jeffers was acknowledged for her exceptional contributions to the field and her commitment to fostering an inclusive environment in STEM while personally struggling with mental health issues. Colleagues and students applauded her efforts as she received the award with gratitude.
Professor Jeffers commented, “This award means more to me than any other award I have received. I hope my experience can serve as inspiration for others in STEM who are minoritized in any way.”
