Improving construction worker safety with wearable sensors
Wearables track heart rate, fatigue and stress.
Civil and environmental engineering professor SangHyun Lee and his University of Michigan research team are placing wearable sensors on construction workers to track on-the-job heart rate, fatigue, and stress. This data will be used to develop a model that will be able to predict and prevent potentially dangerous construction-site situations, like dehydration, anxiety, and other potential safety hazards.
