Gustavo Parra-Montesinos co-authors an Award Winning Paper

Congratulations to Gustavo Parra-Montesinos, for co-authoring a paper that received the Best Paper Award given at the 2009 ASCE Construction Research Congress (CRC). CRC, the largest premiere construction conference in the US, was held on April 4-7 in Seattle, WA.

The Best Paper Award was presented to Zhenhua Zhu, Ioannis Brilakis, and Gustavo Parra-Montesinos, for their manuscript entitled, “Real-Time Concrete Damage Visual Assessment for First Responders.” More than 170 papers were considered for the award, with over 190 authors from 22 countries participating in the conference. Submissions in all areas of construction engineering and management were evaluated on the basis of their innovation, relevance, and intellectual contribution.
