Congratulations, CEE Graduates!

On April 27, 2018, the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering celebrated the tremendous achievements of their graduates.

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering celebrated the occasion of commencement by hosting a reception on Friday, April 27, 2018, in the Blue Lounge. Professors Jerry Lynch (Chair), Avery Demond (Undergraduate Co-Chair), and Adda Athansopoulos-Zekkos (Graduate Chair) made a few remarks as refreshments were enjoyed by all. CEE graduated 13 PhD, 61 Master’s, and 76 BSE degrees this past academic year.

As Professor Lynch stated, “It is a joyous occasion as you have accomplished something absolutely great – the diploma you receive this weekend is evidence of the knowledge and wisdom you have acquired while a student on this campus. As a member of the faculty, I will state on behalf of my colleagues that we all are extremely proud to have been a part of that beautiful process of intellectual growth. However, your diploma is also evidence of your commitment to a higher ideal – that you will (and must) make the world a better place. That is truly what it means to be a graduate of the University of Michigan and of our department.”

Congratulations to the Class of 2017-18 and Forever, Go Blue!
